It’s Tuesdaaaaaay!

Last weekend I drove up to Minnesota to hang with friends and work on NEW DRIFTLESS PONY CLUB SONGS!

I’ve been going up there about once every 2 or 3 months to get about 10 to 15 songs ready for recording a NEW ALBUM!

You see, two members, Matt Weber and Nate Bartley, live in Minneapolis. Other member Sam Grant lives in Chicago. I live in Madison.

One day several months ago it occurred to me that if we were ever going to do anything I must make it happen by simply driving up there periodically, and hoping that Sam could also drive up, even though it would be farther for him. Either way, we’d work on songs and if Sam wasn’t there we’d pass along the info.

Well, now we’re very close to ready for prime time. We’ll be recording in the basement of my house in July with the very same dude who recorded our last 3 releases, Mike Lust. He travels with his studio these days.

I’m contributing 5 songs. They’re all from my month of writing a song a day. Here’s a playlist of the original 5. It may be the most I’ve ever contributed to one album.

Nate (our fabulous drummer) also has 5 songs.

And we actually halfway recorded 5 of Matt’s songs with Mike Lust already in my basement right before the pandemic.

No telling which ones will ultimately make it to the album. But this is more than we usually bring in the first place!

It feels good to be making noise with the boys once again. No official release date yet. Be on the lookout.
